Things To Do

There’s always plenty to do around Warrnambool and Port Fairy, and as a working horse property there’s always lots going on right around the corner from your accommodation.

At High View our walking tracks around the property are perfect for an evening stroll or to take the kids for a short bike ride.

Bring your binoculars or ask to borrow some of ours to spot the many species of birds from your veranda, you might be lucky enough to catch our local wedge tailed eagles enjoying the thermals or other prey birds searching for small wildlife for dinner, or train your sights a little further and see how many species you can spot down in the wetlands.

If you bring your bikes along, the Rail Trail at the end of the driveway provides miles of trails to explore heading either into Warrnambool or west to Koroit and Port Fairy. To the east the trail takes riders or walkers down through Kelly’s swamp which is simply teeming with wildlife for any nature enthusiasts and bird watchers.

544For young and older animal lovers we have lots of pets (cats, dogs, rabbits, horses and ponies) and families are welcome to watch at horse feeding time which can be arranged any time during your stay. Guests are not permitted to enter the paddocks with horses for safety reasons.

Stargazers may be lucky enough to find my husband Steve out with his telescope on a clear night where he’ll be happy to let you take a look and explain some of the things we can see from our part of the world.

Warrnambool and surrounds is full of amazing things to see and do with the following list just a taster of the attractions close at hand:
